Eirini Mavrommati

Assistant Professor, School of Applied Arts, HOU

Irene Mavrommati studied Interactive Multimedia (MA, Royal College of Art) and Graphic Design (MA, Birmingham BIAD, UK) and holds a Ph.D. in the Thematic Area of Interaction Design (in ambient computing environments), Department of Engineering Products and Systems, University of the Aegean.

She is Associate Professor at the School of Applied Arts of the Hellenic Open University at the postgraduate program Graphic Arts-Multimedia. She collaborates (2000-2009) with ITYE, Patras, as IST / FET project manager (ASTRA, e-Gadgets, FinN team, etc.).

He worked as an experienced designer of interaction at Philips Design Netherlands (1995-1999). He has taught Interactive Design at the University of the Aegean, Department of Product and Systems Engineering, and at the Department of Architecture of the University of Patras, and he also served as Associate Educational Personnel at the Hellenic Research Foundation in 2004-2009.

Dimitrios Kalles

Associate Professor, School of Science and Technology, HOU

Dimitris Kallis is Associate Professor at the Hellenic Open University in the subject “Artificial Intelligence – Applications”, where he is also Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Science and Technology.

He holds a Diploma in Computer Engineering and Informatics (1991) from the University of Patras. She also has M.Sc. (1993) and Ph.D. (1995) by the University of Manchester Institute of Science and Technology (UMIST, now University of Manchester).

He has worked as a member of Associate Educational Staff with the HOU since 2001 and with Open University of Cyprus since 2007. He has also taught various fields of Informatics in the Department of Computer Engineering and Informatics of the University of Patras.

Zacharias Palios

Assistant Professor, School of Humanities, HOU

Zacharias Palios was born in Chios in 1961. He received his Ph.D. in Sociology of Education in 1988 from Cardiff University College (UK). He taught at the University of Crete as a scientist from 1992, while in 1994 he was elected assistant professor at the Philosophical School of the same university.

In 2009, he joined the teaching and research staff of the Hellenic Open University, with whom he has been a collaborator since 2000. His academic and research interests focus on the subjects of History and Sociology of Education as well as on continuing education and training.

He has participated in a number of research programs and has supervised the preparation of four doctoral theses.

Christos Tsoumas

Assistant Professor, School of Social Sciences, HOU

Zacharias Palios was born in Chios in 1961. He received his Ph.D. in Sociology of Education in 1988 from Cardiff University College (UK). He taught at the University of Crete as a scientist from 1992, while in 1994 he was elected assistant professor at the Philosophical School of the same university.

He holds a BSc in Electronics and Telecommunications from the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, as well as a Master’s Degree in Financial and Banking Administration and Doctorate in Finance from the Department of Financial and Banking Administration of the University of Piraeus.

His research interests are in the field of Finance, Banking Economics, Applied Economics, and Econometric Methods and Applications.
